Admissible applications shall be decided on within 15 calendar days after receipt by the embassy. That period may be extended up to a maximum of 30 calendar days in individual cases or up to a maximum of 60 calendar days when additional documentation is needed in specific cases.

This applies for both visa applications which can be examined and decided upon by the Danish Embassy, Hanoi as well as cases where the application must be referred to and processed by the Danish Immigration Service (DIS)

Vietnamese citizens are subject to prior consultation before being granted a visa. The consultation may take up to 8 days, and a visa can under no circumstances be issued before the consultation has been completed.

Planning ahead and handing in the application as soon as possible is always a good idea since unforeseen problems, such as incomplete documentation, may arise and prolong the case processing time. However, a visa application cannot be accepted if handed in more than 3 months before the intended departure

A visa normally grants you the right to stay in the entire Schengen region for a maximum of 90 days within a 6-month period. This period begin when you first enter the Schengen area.

No. It is not necessary to pre-arrange an appointment and please note that no such fees will be requested. The hand-out of application forms and information material as well as the arrangement of an appointment is free of charge.
